Federal Deficit

With two wars, an economic crisis due to the unregulated financial sector, tax cuts for the rich, and tax loopholes for corporate America, it's no wonder our federal deficit is out of control.     I don't see any reason why we have to be the police for the whole world.     We need to ask Europe and Japan to pay for their own security so we can reduce our military budget.    The U.S. has spent trillions of dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan with little to show for the effort.     I support the withdrawing of American troops from these two countries so we don't bankrupt our economy.   Corporate tax loop holes need to be closed to narrow the budget deficit.   I also support a higher tax rate for people making over $250,000 a year.    At the same time, I also support cutting back on social programs that currently pay for the illegal immigrants.

Regarding President Obama's Job Proposal, I do support part of it.    I think America desperately needs more investment in our infrastructure which has been neglected for decades.     Compared to other industrialized countries, the infrastructure in the U.S. is a national embarrassment.   American streets are full of pot holes and public transportation closely resembles a third-world country rather than first world .    Even in Silicon Valley, supposedly the tech center of the world, I get drop calls all the time on my cell phone (which doesn't happen while I travel in Europe) and my Internet connection is embarrassingly slow.   It tells me that the technological infrastructure that supports them is inadequate.   We need to invest much more in our infrastructure to keep our economic engine strong to be competitive with the rest of the world.    But I disagree with him on spending $450 Billions for the program.    I think we can do it much cheaper without significantly increases our federal deficit.    Instead of borrowing another half a trillion dollars from China that our children are forced to pay for decades, how about canceling the work programs for guest workers such as the H-1B, L1, etc?    Currently millions of American jobs are currently taken by the guest workers.  The jobs can and should be done by American workers.

Testimonials

I am not the only one who believes Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren is terrible. These are the voices from Americans across the nation who expressed their views about her on the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the Hill, San Jose Mercuy News, etc. in the comment sections of the articles that mentioned her name:

It will be a great day when elected officials like Zoe Lofgren decide to represent the interests of American citizens instead of the interests of multinational corporations and foreign nationals. GET RID OF THE H-1B VISA. Any "reforms" will simply be ignored by the companies that are abusing the visa now. We were told in the beginning that this visa wouldn't displace American workers which has been shown to be a lie. Don't fall for it again.

I totally agree. The only acceptable solution is an end to the H-1b program.

Whenever you hear the word "reform" coming out of D.C., hold onto your wallet - the American people are almost certain to get screwed again.
